Research Interests

My research interest is AI for Science. In this area, we use AI systems to support (natural) sciences in gaining new insights. My focus is on equation discovery, where the results of experiments are available in tables, and the equation that connects the input and output variables is sought.

I'm part of the Third Wave of AI project, which is located at hessian.AI, and my Supervisors are Prof. Mira Mezini from the Software Technology Group at TU Darmstadt and Prof. Stefan Kramer from the Data Minning Group at JGU Mainz.

Activities

There are many ways to contribute with your interests to the field of AI for Science:

  • Foundation Models for Equation Discovery
  • Reinforcement Learning for Planning Experiments
  • Classical Search with Grammars Containing Neural Networks
  • Applying New Neural Network Architectures like Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks to Real-World Examples

Email me with your interests, and we can discuss the topic to create an exciting thesis in AI for Science.
