Texts are unstructured data and text mining involves the process of structuring the input text and extracting patterns from them. To analyse text and extract information, there are three possible approaches: statistical, linguistics and hybrid approach. We believe that taking the advantage of both linguistics and statistical approaches will result in better methods.
Increasing use of social media and blogs has brought up text streams mining on hot topics. This stream of texts can be short texts available in social media or long blog texts and news articles. The goal is to develop fast and online methods which can deal with huge amount of data.
