Kirsten Köbschall presented Soft Hoeffding Tree: A Transparent and Differentiable Model on Data Streams, a joint work with Lisa Hartung and Stefan Kramer.
Mattia Cerrato presented Science-Gym: A Simple Testbed for AI-driven Scientific Discovery, a joint work with Nicholas Schmitt, Lennart Baur, Edward Finkelstein, Selina Jukic, Lars Münzel, Felix Peter Paul, Pascal Pfannes, Benedikt Rohr, Julius Schellenberg, Philipp Wolf, and Stefan Kramer.
Jannis Brugger presented Residuals for Equation Discovery, a joint work with Viktor Pfanschilling, Mira Mezini, and Stefan Kramer.
Our paper Harder to mend than to break? - Counterfactual explainable artificial intelligence for lifestyle medicine and heart disease prediction, a joint work of Hakan Lane, Michael Vaľko, Shree Rath, Mark Walker, Matthew Olson, and Stefan Kramer, has been accepted at the Journal of Medical Artificial Intelligence Vol 8 (March 30, 2025).

The AAAI Fall Symposium, held from 7th to 9th November, focused on Integrated Approaches to Scientific Discovery. The event was very successful, with contributions including three talks: two given by Jannis Brugger and one presented by Prof. Stefan Kramer.

From 14th to 15th November, the 10th annual IPP retreat was held in Osthofen, Mainz. Members gathered to discuss research ideas, future collaborations, and the direction of the IPP.
The BioVation RLP Event, held on 21st November in Mainz, emphasized the potential of technological clusters in Rheinland-Pfalz. Key highlights included:
A presentation of the curATime cluster.
A workshop entitled "KI in Life Sciences: Potenziale und Herausforderungen," led by Markus Junker (DFKI).
A keynote speech by Prof. Stefan Kramer, entitled "KI und Life Science in Rheinland-Pfalz.".
On 26th November, the Zukunftsunternehmen 2024 Award Ceremony was held at the Staatskanzlei Mainz to honor innovative companies shaping the future of Rhineland-Palatinate. The event featured a keynote by Prof. Stefan Kramer on "KI und Nachhaltigkeit an der Schwelle zum Jahr 2025."Learn more here.
